Do most of the magnets on your refrigerator look like this?
They are so not cute. Awhile ago, I made some magnets for a chore board (I guess that’s a post for another day), and I got an idea to make my own, prettier, magnets for a more cohesive, organized look. If your kiddos enjoy a project, they can do most of this with you.
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Scrapbook Paper
- Glass Stones (I found a bag at the a dollar store, but you can find them at Michael’s too)
- Mod Podge
- Super Glue
- Magnets (I got mine at Michaels)
You start by tracing the stone on the scrapbook paper. Turn the paper design-side down so there are no markings on the front.
Cut out the shape. Using the paintbrush and Mod Podge, adhere the scrapbook paper to the flat side of the stone. Remember to put the design-side down so it shows through the stone.
At first it looks white from the Mod Podge, but the Mod Podge will dry clear, so no worries. You will also want to put some Mod Podge on the back of the paper so it is a little more durable. Let that dry.
Once dry, adhere the magnet to the back of the stone with super glue. I use super glue because I want the magnet to actually stay on when pulling it off the fridge. I’m not sure regular glue would hold. Allow that to dry.
Now post things up on your fridge with something adorable!
